All payments to Nour El Nil are non-refundable under any circumstances (except border closures due to geopolitical or health restrictions). A non-refundable deposit of 25% is due within 14 days of your confirmation if your booking is more than 60 days in the future and the non-refundable balance payment is due at least 60 days in advance of your sail date. If your booking is within 60 days, the full amount is due at the time of booking.
If you cancel more than 60 days in advance of your sail date, you are entitled to move/reschedule your booking to a new date one time without penalty. Any re-bookings will be at the same rate of the original booking if:
- The new travel date is within 12 months of the original date
- The booking is a Regular Season Rate booking (and not a High Season booking).
Re-bookings that are (a) for dates more than 12 months from the original sail date and/or (b) are a High Season week are subject to new/updated rates.
Additional Details
Under normal conditions, cancellations made within 60 days of your sail date may be subject to forfeiture of your payment (with no ability to rebook). Nour El Nil only considers border closures (of the guest's home country or Egypt), flight restrictions to Egypt from the guest's home country, or "Do Not Travel" (or equivalent) State Department warning levels of the guest's home country as force majeure. Please note that "Reconsider Travel" or "Increased Caution" advisory levels do not constitute force majeure, as many countries have had such advisories for Egypt for a decade or more due to the border regions, which do not affect the safety of tourism at all.
Our cancellation policy was put in place following the Arab Spring, during which tourism dropped to zero, in order to ensure that we are able to take care of our staff during difficult times when there is no income for the business. Whereas other businesses have historically been forced to lay off employees during these times, leaving them without income to support their families, we have designed our policies to both sustain our crew and their income and ensure that our guests are also able to take advantage of a trip at a future date if they are forced to cancel due to unpreventable circumstances. Additionally, we pay taxes to the government on all payments, which we do not recuperate in the event of a cancellation, as well as fees on credit card payments, etc.
Due to unpredictable global conditions and concern around health and safety, as well as unforeseen personal circumstances, it is critical that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance, that will guard your non-refundable payments in the event that you should decide to cancel at a future date without the ability to rebook the trip. We highly recommend choosing a policy through a carrier in your country, as they are most likely to offer you the best coverage and deals.
